macos screen sharing copy/paste does not work

Connected to another Mac via screen sharing with Flycut installed on remote computer.  Copy/Paste via CMD+SHIFT+c/CMD+SHIFT+v does the copy and brings up the wraparound/sticky bezel but ENTER does not paste.  Nor does clicking on Flycut icon on top bar and clicking on desired copied text result in a paste.
