Reshade FX system package on Debian?

Hello there,

I have been trying to use this on Debian 13, but I can't find Reshade FX sources to build and install.
Apparently, Reshade is here:
https://github.com/crosire/reshade
...but it doesn't have any build files for GNU/Linux.

What Reshade FX package or self-built binaries should I install on non-Gentoo for this, please?
I know you have this: https://github.com/pchome/gentoo-dev-playground, but.. Building on an VM for non Gentoo system is too much. Anything that I can build on Gentoo can be built on other systems natively for sure.

Somehow this repo wasn't "watched" so I didn't receive any notifications ...

Reshade FX basically source/effect_* files built as .so.
There is also Gentoo overlay with all necessary out-of-tree dependencies: https://github.com/pchome/VulkanFX-gentoo-overlay.

Ebuilds are basically shell scripts with "sugar" + I did a weird thing by integrating meson.build's directly into ebuilds because I don't want to deal with versioned meson.build's in files/ directory. You can try to extract those meson.build's and place them in reshade source root. Apply patches if mentioned in the ebuild. Then use variables from the ebuild as a hint to create build files for Debian.

@pchome Thanks, but I can't make head or tails from that explanation.
When I try to build VulkanFX, I get this:

Run-time dependency reshadefx found: NO (tried pkgconfig and cmake)

../src/meson.build:3:14: ERROR: Dependency "ReShadeFX" not found, tried pkgconfig and cmake

I don't want to mess with Gentoo-specific stuff, all I need is to know how to install, on a distro-neutral way, the required ReShadeFX dependency. Is that possible? How?

EDIT: I seem to understand that what you gave me is a ready-to-use meson.build for ReshadeFX??

More on this: I went down this rabbit hole, and ReshadeFX requires a certain version of GLAD... No way I am going down there, it goes down and down and down...

I think I will keep using VKBASALT for now... give me a nod when this is reasonably usable outside Gentoo. Thanks.

Short answer: no, installing on a distro-neutral way not implemented in this repository.

Long answer: it is possible in number of ways, but require additional effort either on my side or yours.
We have multiple dependencies here which usually not packaged by various distros and some of them must be specified versions (like ReShade). I have portage to manage dependencies so I do not need to use git/meson submodules or bundle dependencies into this repo. In other words for user to build this project in "regular users way" somewhere in home directory I should use submodules. Maybe I'll do this eventually in a separate branch but I personally do not need this.

I don't think you missing something if you using vkBasalt, in current state of the project there is not much changed, just something fixed here something broken there ...

But if you really want to try, then use supported ReShade version (currently 6.5.1 or 6.6.2) with vulkan_impl_type_convert patch from https://github.com/pchome/VulkanFX-gentoo-overlay/tree/main/dev-util/reshade-fx/files (6.4.1 applicable for ReShade 6.5.1). Next, provided earlier meson.build should generate pkgconfig files. There is a meson option to set additional path for pkgconfig (I don't remember, google it), also note there are other deps: vkroots, stb, VulkanMemoryAllocator...
