Squadron images are invisible under certain lighting conditions

This is something I stumbled across while doing other work. Here's an image of a Hercules:

Note the squadron image visible on the engine pod.

Now witness what happens if I tilt the Herc up a bit:

I guess I need to figure out how to get lighting to affect insignias. I might just say "fuck it" and get decals working in the main model shader as well so it can piggy back on the lighting pass.
