Rationale for this change
Dicussion in the issue. Looking for clearer approach to get to a column of data.
What changes are included in this PR?
Adds to_arrow_array to extract an array from a single column df.
Add column to extract an arrow array by name from dataframe.
Are there any user-facing changes?
Yes. Two new public apis. Probably don't need both but they are slightly different usages.
