Allows a mixture of YYYY, YYYY-mm, and YYYY-mm-dd
Not sure if you want this or not, but this is the local fix I have been using to allow me to make transphylo tree with a sane x-axis when I have a mixture of dates which are just years and some that are days and even some that are months.
